Today’s Scripture:

2 Kings 6:1-7
The company of the prophets said to Elisha, "Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us. Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to live." And he said, "Go." Then one of them said, "Won't you please come with your servants?" "I will," Elisha replied. And he went with them. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. "Oh, my lord," he cried out, "it was borrowed!" The man of God asked, "Where did it fall?" When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. "Lift it out," he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it.

Today’s Word:
This bible text is an example of when good intentions turn bad. The sons of the prophet had the zeal to serve. They wanted to enlarge the place where they stayed to worship God so that there will be enough space for many to come in and worship the unlimited God. Hmmmm... that sounds like good intentions! They all volunteered their time and energy. Since they were priests they could not offer money because they were forbidden to work. However, that which they had, they gave wholeheartedly and that which they didn’t have they borrowed. Alas, at the peak of their good will, the borrowed axe head fell into the water. A series of things went through their minds - there was no way out, the lender would surely come after them, etc. But then, they remembered, they did not come alone. It was all for the sake of God. They called on the man of God and God transferred the light weight of the wood into the iron axe so that it floated and the heaviness of the iron was transferred into the wood so that it sunk.
I have heard about a lot of people who made a resolution to begin paying their tithes but before the end of the month they lost their jobs. Many have tried to help others get a good job where they worked but the very person they helped gang up against them and they lose the credibility in the jobs that they struggled to maintain for years. Many women have lost their husbands as a result of trying to help someone they called a friend. What is your own story? Have you called someone to eat and the person noosed your mouth? Have you asked someone to scrub your back and the person is using thorns? Have you asked someone to blow dirt off your eyes and the person is using hot pepper? Have you questioned all your good motives? Or questioned your faith, your intentions?
You’re not alone. The sons of the prophets have been there too. When you feel limited and you require an unlimited God to swing into action, just call on Jesus. Allow Jesus to dip his hand into your life, that He may avenge you. Do not curse God yet … only pray. Remember vengeance is of the Lord. Let him do the fighting and crown you the winner.

Prayer points:
1. Oh Lord lift up my crushed spirit

3. Oh Lord, Restore all my lost
4. Transfer the potential to rise on me
5. Oh unlimited God swing into action because of Your name
6. Let there be a way for my upliftment again, Oh God
